They were strikingly similar, save for the part where Dazai was slightly more successful at being a better person. Jouno tried and fell short every time, especially the longer he was in this city. His heroics back home meant nothing here, and he'd slipped and fallen so far while under the influence of Duplicity-style shenanigans that he felt like he'd never truly redeemed himself at all.

As Dazai moves his arm, Jouno moves as well, leaning more heavily on him. There's a tap against his hand that Jouno realizes after a minute is a water bottle. Hesitantly, he grabs it and takes it from Dazai, raising it in front of his face and then uncapping it.
He smells it first. It smells fine, but Jouno can't imagine a world in which it is fine. So he hits Dazai in the chest with it and demands, "Drink first."
