Dazai-san, you're a detective. I want you to figure out what happens to people when they disappear from here, whether or not they go home or if they go some place worse. Money is of no concern to me -- I'll pay whatever it takes.

From what I gather, some people do go home, but they have no memory of this place. If they return, sometimes they return with new memories of home. I'm not really concerned about that -- I want to know where they go and how to get them back.

I'm aware of that. [ Jouno doesn't bother to hide the annoyance in his tone, but it isn't Dazai's fault. It's not like Dazai controls any of this anymore than Jouno does. There's an aggravated sigh during the silence -- Jouno knows exactly what questions are coming. ]

No. [ A huff. ] I don't know. I'll be fine without him, but he's my partner. I should do my due diligence.

[ The question is asked casually, with a tone that suggests he doesn't really want a clear, honest answer to that. He knows, already... that Jouno would probably be fine, or pretend he was.

It's not really HIS job to make sure Jouno stays fine-- because Jouno doesn't want that from him. ] ... 'kay. I'll start gathering information. First step'll be making a post on the network, to ask those who have been sent home and those who have heard from other's experiences.

[ Jouno is, admittedly, more worried about Tetchou. If he's not back home, he might be in some kind of trouble. He doesn't have the same level of self-control that Jouno has. ]
